Warning - this is a whiny post. A whiny, complaining, "oh, poor me" post.
It's hot. Really, really hot. I'm sure my scrapping friends in the region will be absolutely amazed. It's probably not bothering them, but it's bothering ME. I was born down south. There's a reason I live up here. I wanted to GET AWAY FROM THE HEAT. Well, it found me. And it's been here about 4 days too long. Enough, already!
I was in Florida a few days ago. You know, Florida. The home of heat, humidity and giant cockroaches. It was hot and a bit humid, but not too hot to sit outside on the porch and enjoy that glass of ice tea. And not sweat. And nary a cockroach in sight.
This morning at 6:15 a.m. (yes, that's a.m.) it was 86 degrees. I don't know about global warming, but I sure do know about local warming, and it's warming way too much. I have pretty good ac in my car, but it takes almost the whole drive home (about an hour) for the car to cool off, and that's on recirculate, fan all the way up and the temp set on 68. Sheesh!
You hear how babies get their days and nights mixed up. Well, Mother Nature has her norths and souths mixed up. You can't sit outside here, unless you want to denature the proteins in your body as it slowly cooks. You can SEE the air, but you just about can't breathe it. Hello?!! Enough, already!
I hear there's going to be a break in the heat. Yes, tomorrow it will be the absolutely balmy temp of 91 or so. Great. I'm going in to work early to get a spot in the parking garage. So my car will be 91 when I get off work instead of what feels like 191. Mother Nature? ENOUGH ALREADY!
Oh, by the way, how many shopping days until Christmas?
